Case study: Totty Construction for Whitbread Plc

Location: City Centre Travel Inn, Nottingham

A 160 bedroom, 5-storey hotel – in 10 weeks.

We supplied and erected a timber frame for this hotel as a ‘Fastrack’ solution. This ensured the building was structurally complete in 10 weeks, yet only needed five site operatives and a supervisor.

In addition, a steel podium structure was designed to support a roof-mounted 34 tonne water tank. Floor panels were 11 metres long, and used engineered I-beam floor systems, to comply with progressive collapse design criteria.
