Stewart Milne Timber Systems Lands Oxford Innovation Award
| Stewart Milne Timber Systems, the UK’s leading provider of timber frame solutions, has won an award for innovation at the 2011 Oxfordshire Business Awards. The company won the Oxford Business Award for Innovation after impressing judges with the development and performance of its groundbreaking Sigma II Build System. Recognising companies’ commitment to the introduction of innovative products and services, the award demonstrates Stewart Milne Timber Systems’ ongoing success in the field of product development. Produced following an extensive R & D process, the Sigma II Build System is being used across the UK in a number of leading, low carbon projects including hotel extensions, student accommodation and housing among others. The company’s clients are choosing the award-winning build system in order to meet their sustainability and design requirements. Stewart Milne Timber Systems is also using the Sigma II Build System in the pioneering AIMC4 initiative, where it has provided technical knowledge throughout the design and pre-build process. With its unique flexibility and sustainability credentials, the build system will be used for the company’s eight AIMC4 homes in Aberdeen, East Lothian and Preston. The Sigma II Build System is currently being produced at Stewart Milne Timber Systems’ £10m state of the art, automated production facility. Based in Witney, the factory, along with the company’s Aberdeen facility, serves a significant portion of the UK timber market, with a combined capacity to output 12,000 units a year. |
